Lava liquid embolic agents for peripheral embolization is intended for use in the embolization of lesions in the peripheral and neurovasculature, including arteriovenous malformations and hypervascular tumors.
LavaTM liquid embolic agents for peripheral embolization consists of an elastic polymer comprising an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH), dissolved in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), and provided with x-ray radiopacity by adding micronized tantalum powder. LavaTM is a liquid, non-adhesive, non-absorbable, injectable and permanent embolic agent. Owing to its non-adhesive physical property, it is easy to deliver due to a low risk of sticking to a microcatheter tip. Its viscosity helps to achieve a correct delivery. Due to its physical properties, LavaTM has more embolic predictability than other currently available liquid agents and have good potential in endovascular bleeding management.
Features &Advantages
1. It was made of non-adhesive material and used the latest technology of EVOH co-polymer.
2. LavaTM is available in three product formulations, Lava 12, Lava 18 and Lava 34.
3. More fluidness allows deeper penetration into the nidus and to reach distal microvessels.
4. A stable and controlled injection and delivery method to reach target embolism.
5. The micronized tantalum powder provides excellent visibility.
