LavaTM Liquid Embolic Agent is a non adhesive liquid embolic agent for embolization of brain Arteriovenous Malformations (AVM).
Lava-18 Liquid Embolic Agent
LavaTM Liquid Embolic Agent is composed of EVOH (ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer) with suspended micronized Tantalum powder and DMSO(dimethyl sulfoxide). LavaTM must be injected through a DMSO compatible microcatheter. DMSO solvent dissipates into the blood, causing the EVOH copolymer and suspended tantalum to precipitate in situ into a spongy, coherent embolus. LavaTM is immediately forms a skin as the polymeric embolus solidifies from the outside to the inside, while traveling more distally in the lesion.
Features & Advantages
1. Lava TM is now available in 12, 18, and 34 three viscosity to meet clinical needs.
2. Enhanced fluidness and deeper penetration into the nidus and distal microvessels.
3. A slow controlled injection and delivery method to reach complete occlusion.
4. The latest technology of EVOH copolymer.
5. Micronized grain size of tantalum powder and high power visibility.
